FROM SERVICE TO CIVICS.

At The Chamberlain Network, we are building a future where veterans, as trusted messengers, unite communities, ensuring the principles of democracy are resilient against all threats and cherished by every citizen.

ABOUT THE CHAMBERLAIN NETWORK

HISTORY

The Chamberlain Network draws inspiration from Joshua Chamberlain, Civil War hero and steadfast protector of democracy after his military service, as a model for how veterans can continue serving their communities.

To reach our vision, our activities contribute to healthier democratic institutions and promote democracy through: (1) Community engagement for and by veteran leaders; (2) Public education on democracy defense; (3) Democracy and human rights advocacy guided by veteran voices.

ORGANIZING & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

The Chamberlain Network establishes local veteran-led community hubs, which act as support groups to foster active civil service. We equip chapter leaders and volunteers with the tools they need to host public forums and town halls in their communities in support of broader community engagement around democracy building.

CIVIC EDUCATION

Our inaugural efforts include working in coalition with existing veteran and military family service organizations to train veterans on democracy protection, public speaking, and advocacy. This includes developing digital tools – video campaigns, social media toolkits, and talking points – that highlight the importance of democratic institutions, fair elections.

PUBLIC ADVOCACY

The Chamberlain Network organizes campaigns for veterans to advance policies that promote democratic governance, protect civil liberties, and support human rights at local, state, and national levels. We host public events – Democracy Defense Dialogues – that highlight the key issues facing our democratic institutions, and inform veterans and volunteers on how they can get more actively involved.
