OUR WORK
Healthy Democratic Institutions
The military runs on functional institutions — clear chains of command, accountability, and rules that apply to everyone. Veterans understand better than most what happens when those structures break down. That means defending the democratic institutions at the core of self-governance: responsive government, transparent decision-making, and safeguards against corruption and undue influence.
TCN works to strengthen the systems and structures that make self-governance possible — because when our institutions function well, democracy endures.
OTHER KEY ISSUES:
CURRENT CAMPAIGNS
Check out our campaigns page to see what we’re working on and how you can get involved.
At The Chamberlain Network, we equip our community to ensure that our elected leaders are accountable and that Americans' voices make a difference.
HOLD ELECTED LEADERS ACCOUNTABLE
Our government functions best when it is responsive, transparent, and working in the public interest. Citizens should be able to understand policy decisions and their real-world impact, attend open meetings, and participate meaningfully in the policymaking process. Veterans understand the importance of institutional integrity — and they can help others understand why accountable, efficient government that avoids gridlock and excessive bureaucracy matters for all of us.
PROMOTE SAFEGUARDS AROUND CORRUPTION
No one — regardless of wealth, status, or political connections — should be above the law. Healthy institutions protect against the excessive influence of special interests and the wealthy, maintain independence from inappropriate political pressure, and ensure there are real mechanisms to remove corrupt officials when necessary.
PROTECT CIVIL-MILITARY NORMS
Veterans know firsthand what it means to serve within a system of laws and civilian oversight. The appropriate use of military power, equal enforcement of the law for all people, and respect for constitutional boundaries aren't abstract ideals — they're the foundation of the country they swore to protect. Veterans have a unique and credible voice in standing up for these norms when they come under pressure.
