Insurrection Act Video Collection Form

Recent reports indicate the Trump administration is preparing active-duty troops to be deployed to Minneapolis under the Insurrection Act. 

We’re asking veterans to record videos, stating that you expect troops to maintain their professionalism and protect Americans first. 

The goal of these is to elevate the voices of veterans to remind these troops of their duty to uphold the Constitution, follow lawful orders, and protect the rights of the American people; that the eyes of America’s veterans are watching. These videos will be used across social media and may also be shared with reporters or local partners.

Script:

I served as an [officer/warrant/non-commissioned officer, enlisted] in the[insert branch] from [dates] [add if deployed and to where]. When I led [soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, etc…] I expected them to be professional, to follow the law, and to protect Americans first. 

Now that active-duty troops are being deployed to American cities under the Insurrection Act, I expect these forces to act with the same professionalism I demonstrated while in uniform. I expect troops to see their fellow Americans as allies, not the enemy. I expect troops to defend the constitutional rights of all Americans, including freedom of assembly and the right to free speech. I expect that they will follow only legal orders. 

And to our elected leaders, I expect you to do all you can to stop this deployment and stop playing politics with our military.
