Right to Repair Campaign Interest Form

The Chamberlain Network is partnering with the Project on Government Oversight (POGO) to bring together advocates and encourage your elected officials to support necessary Pentagon reform and the right to repair.

Much like the manufacturers in the private sector, companies contracting with the Pentagon often limit the Department of Defense’s right to repair its own equipment. You may have run into this in your own service (if so, we want to know!)

Our service members are fully capable of repairing most military equipment and are well-versed in doing as much as they can with as few resources as possible. The fact that Pentagon contractors are keeping service members from fixing their own equipment is cause for concern from a waste perspective, an overall safety perspective, and a readiness perspective.

We’re planning a series of advocacy days with key Senate and Congressional leaders, in May and June to encourage them to address these issues in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

We’re asking you to participate in advocacy training, attend these legislative visits, and write op-eds or letters to the editor. No prior advocacy experience is needed – this is a great opportunity to learn more about the federal defense budget process, and how to engage your members of Congress.
