TCN joins letter calling on election reporters to promote clarity and accuracy on election night

The Chamberlain Network signed on to a joint statement led by Election Reformers Network alongside other civil society organizations and individuals encouraging election reporters and news anchors to help ensure American voters understand the election process, and that early projections from the media do not always align with verified elections results that have gone through all the appropriate checks and balances.

“Clarity and education about the election process will reduce the likelihood of political unrest and increase confidence in the outcomes. We are not asking that you not make informed projections, only that they be made with appropriate context…We also urge you, during pre- and post-election coverage, to reassure voters that accuracy matters more than speed.” the statement reads.

As we approach a contentious national election, each of us has a role to play in reducing the risk of political unrest, watching out for misinformation, and providing accurate information about our elections. Ensuring that voters have reliable, trusted information about our elections is fundamental to The Chamberlain Network and the veteran community we bring together.
